In their own words — what participants took away

I came to the Family Talk Workshop fairly sceptical — I wasn't sure a half-day session could offer much beyond what you'd read in a book. It was different than I expected. The facilitator kept things grounded and the group conversation was actually the most useful part. I've used the workbook prompts twice since then.

The Shared Records Setup was very practical. We had documents scattered across email, a shared drive, and paper files. The templates were straightforward — not over-engineered — and the session helped us decide what was actually worth keeping in one place versus what we'd been keeping out of habit. Good value.

We are a mixed-nationality household and communication across different cultural expectations has always been complicated. The workshop didn't pretend there are easy answers, which I appreciated. The frameworks gave us a shared vocabulary to use at home, which was more useful than I expected from a single session.

I joined the Community Membership after attending the workshop earlier in the year. The monthly sessions are thoughtfully put together — each one has a clear theme and the discussion stays on track. I like that there is no pressure to share anything personal. You can just listen and take notes if that is what you need that month.

I have been a Community Member for eight months now. The reading materials are genuinely curated — not just links to generic articles. The peer circles feel different from online forums because there is an actual moderator and ground rules that people follow. It is a quieter, more careful space than I expected to find.
